Back ground
Brief history
1996.10.21 CIDA, JIDA, KAID signed a mutual assistance contact based on the geographical neighborhood and the cultural resemblance.
1997.12.13`19 A Joint ChairmenŐs Meeting in Seoul hosted by KAID.
1998. 8.20`21 CIDA, JIDA, KAID Meeting hosted by JIDA at Benesse Island in Japan.
1999. 7.10`12 The Joint Meeting hosted by KAID at young Pyong Dragon Valley, Kangwondo, Korea.
1999. 9.20 The joint meeting of the delegated form three
associations at the ICSID/AMCOM Meeting at Sydney , Australia.
2000. 5.26`28 The Joint Meeting hosted by CIDA, Taipei and Hua-Lien, Taiwan
2001.7.16`18 Pre-Meeting hosted by KAID, Seoul
2001.10.12 The Joint Meeting hosted by KAID, Seoul. At that time the Joint Meeting was re-named to ADA -Asia DesignerŐs Assembly-
2002.8.24`25 Pre-meeting hosted by JIDA, Kanazawa, Japan.
Concept
Interest in design is increasing throughout Asia.
There are a variety of non-profit deign organization in many countries and there are energetic
Active exchange of design culture between non-official design associations and increased necessity for them.
Increased show of interest by other Asian countries step by step regarding the Asia Designer's Assembly.
Need for organizations that can exchange design culture and establish common ground throughout Asia.
We need to look for ways in which we can develop an Asian Design identity.
Goal
Following the characteristics of Asia Designer's Assembly, we aim to provide the opportunity for other Asian countries to create amity and relationship each other.
The need for creation of non-profit design association in other Asian countries in order to protect the interests of the designers and help in reaching of each other's various problems.
Create a new Asian Design Culture through such relationship and define an original Design identity, also Asian design value.
Decrease the gap in the design education program suitable for Asian cultures through the exchange of the design education methods.
Planning the advancement of quality design culture through various academic exchanges and regularly held seminars and workshop for professional designers and students.
ADA support to make for cross culture opportunity to each countries students to get experience in any industry in Asian countries also over the world.
Asia Designer's Assembly Regulations
Chapter 1
General Rules
Section 1 (Title)
This Association is entitled "Asia Designer's Assembly : ADA".
Section 2 (The Home Office)
The Home Office of this Association is set up in principle to the nation where the chairman belongs.
Chapter 2
Goal & Scheme
Section 3 (Goal)
This Assembly aims at developing and making progress in the field of Industrial Design in Asia, and through this aim, at contributing to the qualitative improvement for the life of the human beings in order to cooperate with member nations (associations).
Section 4 (Scheme)
In order to achieve the goal of Article 4, through the cooperation with the member nations (associations), this association carries out the scheme as follows.
1. Promotes to interchange the information mutually by media such as bulletins, websites, etc.
2. Projects and fulfils the scheme which is for expediting the exchange with related fields of domestic as well as overseas industrial design.
3. Is held various lecture meetings, lecture classes, exhibitions, field trips, etc.
4. Plans and promotes the related scheme to accomplish other purposes of this Association.
Chapter 3
Member Nation (Association)
Section 5
(Type and Qualification of Member Nation (Association))
The qualification of Member Nation (Association) is as follows.
1. Member Nation (Association) : It shall be the nation (association) which tries to contribute to the academic research and substantial study on design and which is recognized by the standing committee.
Section 6 (Admission)
1. The nation, which wants to be admitted to ADA , shall submit a prescribed admission form and be recognized by the standing committee.
2. The nation (association), which is recognized as the previous clause shall try to do its best to play its role as a member nation (associ-ation).
Section 7
(Obligation and Right of Member Nations (Associations))
1. Member Nations (Associations) shall attend the regular meeting, which is held every year.
2. All the member nations (Associations) shall make it a rule to attend the projects, which this Association sponsors.
3. Member nations (associations) shall inform the absence 2 months prior to the meeting, provided that the nation which has unavoidable circumstances
Chapter 4
Executive Members of the Committee
Section 8 (Staff)
1. This Association has the staffs as follows.
1 Chairman, 2 Vice Chairman
Section 9 (Standing Committee)
1. The Standing Committee is made up of 3 associations, which are Korea(KAID), Japan(JIDA) and Taiwan(CIDA-Taiwan).
2. Chairman and Vice Chairman shall perform their duties for a year, taking turns during one year tenure of office.
Section 10
(Function and Authority of Staffs)
1. Chairman represents, generalizes and calls this Association, and shall be the Speaker of the general meeting.
Chapter 5
General Assembly
Section 11
Call for General Meeting
1. Chairman calls the regular general meeting every year.
2. Chairman calls the emergency meeting in the cases when,
(1) approved by chairman that is in need.
(2) requested by over 2/3 of all the member nations (associations)
Section 12
Opening of General Meeting
It shall make it a rule to open the general meeting once a year, and be able to be held at any time when the chairman agrees that occasion demands.
Section 13
Participation Regulations
Each member nation bears the traffic expenses for the pre-meeting.
1. The association, who calls the general meeting, offers the expenses for accommodation etc. ( Air fee is not included) for participating association, and its number of persons shall be within 5 persons, in case of 3 nations. |
